- 19-year-old male unable to attend university due to having to work to contribute to family income
- Currently working as an apprentice mechanic in a small local garage
- Ambition is to attend attend university for buisness management so he can open his own garage and train other young people in difficulty
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree
- Includes 4 years of tuition at a Benin Public University
- Incudes anual costs for registation, textbooks, supplies
- Includes transportation, meals, accomodation
- Total Scholarship Amount – USD $4,400
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY – ADULT FRENCH LITERACY CLASS FOR 18-40 Year Olds (Quantity 3)
- Sample Candidate Profile
- Woman aged 24 who hasn’t had any access to formal school education
- Currently helps her mother sell vegetables at the Porto-Novo market and is the sole provider for your young son
- Ambition is to learn to read, write and count to keep up with her son’s schooling and be in a positionto open a small sewing business to become independent and eventually be able to provide an opportunity for others in her business
- 9 month French Literacy Program
- Includes introductions to reading and writing with a focus on grammar
- Includes daily vocabulary lessons
- Includes listening comprehension and oral expression
- Total Scholarship Amount – USD $600 (3 scholarships each USD $200)
The Benin Literacy School is currently being constructed via donations from other philanthropic organizations. Scholarships for Africa Foundation is seeking to compliment these efforts by providing the literacy schalorships required to deliver these life changing educational classes within this school that is nearing completion.
